MY FIRST 3D ROOM — free starter project for "Build Your Own 3D World with AI" by Andy Leong
Online version: https://sorvian.io/book/starter/ (live mall: https://mall.sorvian.io)

1. OPEN IT
Double-click index.html. It opens in your web browser (Chrome, Edge or Safari).
You need an internet connection the first time (the 3D engine, Three.js, loads from a public CDN).

2. WALK
Computer: W A S D or arrow keys to walk, drag with the mouse to look around.
Phone/tablet: use the round joystick bottom-left, swipe to look.

3. CHANGE IT (Chapter 1)
Easiest: click "Customize room" (top-right). Change the sign, colors and lights and watch the room update.
Click "Copy my settings" to keep them (paste over the CONFIG block, see below).

Or edit the file directly: open index.html in any text editor (Notepad is fine; VS Code is nicer).
Near the top you will find a block called CONFIG. Change a value, save, refresh the browser.
roomTitle the sign on the back wall
     wallColor e.g. "#e8dfd0" (pick colors at https://htmlcolorcodes.com)
     floorColor e.g. "#6b4f3a"
     accentColor gold trim and sign
skyColor what you see through the windows (darken it too for a night look)
lightWarmth color of the ceiling lights
     lightStrength 0.2 moody · 1.2 gallery · 2.5 very bright
extraLight a second light: enabled true/false, color, strength, position [left/right, height, front/back]
Or ask your AI assistant: "Here is my CONFIG block. Make the room feel like a calm night-time jewelry boutique. Only change the CONFIG values."

4. ADD A MODEL (Chapter 1, and your own in the Meshy chapter)
The "models" folder has three free samples from Sorvian Mall's Sarawak Event Hall, made with Meshy:
     sample-hornbill.glb a hornbill sculpture
sample-gongs.glb a traditional Borneo gong set
     sample-cats.glb Kuching's famous cats
practice-hornbill-sideways.glb the same hornbill, deliberately lying on its side:
for the Blender practice in the Meshy chapter (stand it up again)
Drag one of them (or any .glb file, for example one you made in Meshy) from your computer onto the open page.
It is placed on the pedestal and scaled to about 1.6 m tall (the whole model is kept on the pedestal top even while it turns, so wide models come out shorter:
   hornbill about 1.6 m, cats about 1.45 m, gongs about 1.1 m).
Nothing is uploaded anywhere; it stays on your computer. A dropped model is not saved: after a refresh, drop it again.
The Hornbill / Gongs / Cats buttons in "Customize room" only work when the room is online (sorvian.io/book/starter, also on a phone).
If you opened index.html by double-clicking, drag the file from the models folder instead.

5. PUT IT ONLINE (the "Put it online" chapter)
Upload the whole folder (index.html plus the models folder) to any free static host (the book shows step by step).
The room itself is one file; the models folder is what makes the Hornbill / Gongs / Cats buttons work online.
Works in current Chrome, Edge and Firefox, and Safari 16.4 or newer.
